Harbinger Of Spring

This week it feels like winter has turned a corner. That harbinger of Spring – the jonquil is out and I picked a bunch intent on creating a design for my Garden Fairy’s Wardrobe but seduced by the scent I couldn’t bring myself to remove the flowers from the stems so popped them in a vase instead.

The bergenias too are sweetly scented and are creating a swathe of pink near the sandstone steps in my garden – an abundance of blooms for vases and garden fairy dresses.
