Lilac Time

My patchwork hedge hides my house from the street and there is a gate each end with steps leading to a half circle path that takes you to the front door. Depending on which direction you’re venturing out in (or returning from) can be the deciding factor of which gate to take or it may just be chosen on a whim.

Now last weeks rain has cleared and the sunshine has returned the lilacs in the hedge are flowering and the sweet scent greets you at the gates – it is at this time of the year I think the front garden is at it’s most magical.
